Introduction

This course is a combination of the following 3 courses:

• EASA Airworthiness Management (Part-M with Part-CAMO) training, focussing on the Continuing Airworthiness Management requirements for licenced air carriers (EC 1008/2008) and for owners/operators of complex motor-powered aircraft,
• EASA Part-145 training, which covers all aspects of Part-145, Maintenance organisation, and
• Part-66/147 training, reviewing Part-66 (Aircraft Maintenance Licence requirement) /147 (Approved Maintenance Training Organisations) and which elaborates on the role of EU Member States.

Note: A separate JAA TO training is available for maintenance of other than complex motor-powered aircraft not used by licenced air carriers according to EC 1008/2008; this is the EASA General Aviation Maintenance and Airworthiness Management (Part-M, Part-CAO Part-ML).

Course Content

EASA Airworthiness Management (Part-M + Part-CAMO) training

The Part-M training has been revised and renamed and now includes Part-CAMO and applicable parts from Part-M. The Annex I & Vc (Part-M and Part-CAMO) to Implementing Rule EU 1321/2014 and the corresponding Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) are covered. The applicable regulations will be addressed in detail. The Technical Requirements (Section A) and the Procedures for Competent Authorities (Section B) of Part-M are dealt with separately and in a logical, structured way.

The training also provides an overview of relevant sections of other regulations like Part-145 and Part 21. In accordance with the EASA syllabus, the training focuses on the requirements for licensed air carriers, Part-M subparts C and I, and on the responsibilities of the operator indicated in Part-M subpart B and Part-CAMO, including the responsibility of the maintenance organisations.

Please note this course also covers the elements of the Airworthiness Review Part-M, Part-CAMO in a generic way.

EASA Part-145 training

The Annex II to Implementing Rule EU 1321/2014 and the corresponding Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Materials (GM) are covered in detail. The Technical Requirements (Section A) and the Procedures for Competent Authorities (Section B) of Part-145 are dealt with separately and in a logical, structured way. The link between the regulation and the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) is also discussed. 

The training also provides an overview of relevant sections of other regulations like Part-M (both for maintenance and for continuing airworthiness management), Part 21, Part-66 and Part-147.

EASA Part-66/147 training course

It covers Annexes III and IV to Implementing Rule EU 1321/2014 and the corresponding AMC and GM materials in detail. The Technical Requirements (Section A) and the Procedures for Competent Authorities (Section B) of Parts 66 and 147 are dealt with separately in a structured way.

Part-66 (Annex III) Aircraft Maintenance Licence requirements. Detailing Basic licence, type training, OJT and the role of the National Aviation Authorities. Including the new licence categories introduced (B2L, L licence).

Part-147, the requirements for a Maintenance Training Organisation. Including the meaning of the regulation change introduced with EU 2018/1142 for approved Basic Training organisations.

All courses are up to date and follow the latest EASA regulations.

Learning Objectives

The presentation book is used throughout the training. This eliminates the need to present the full texts from the regulation on the presentation slides. The slides only summarise the main points of the requirements. The trainer elaborates on these slides based on their knowledge of the requirements and experience in their application. Questions from the attendants and mutual discussions are encouraged.

Because of the build-up of this course combination, it is useful for both new and experienced professionals from industry and authorities.

Pre-requisites

To prepare for the course, please be familiar with the text of Part M, Part-CAMO, Part-145, Part-66 and Part-147 Regulations. People relatively new in the aviation sector should also be able to follow and benefit from this training.

Participants are kindly requested to bring a laptop to the course to access course material which will only be provided in electronic format.
