Introduction

This course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and key concepts governing aerodrome operations, emphasizing a Total System Approach to safety and effective collaboration among relevant entities.

Aerodromes are complex structures, both from a physical and regulatory point of view. Several entities must interact and cooperate on the aerodrome and within the Competent Authority.

Consequently, the focus of this course is on the regulatory structures and the principles, concepts, and purposes of the requirements, without getting lost in the details.

During the course, the need for a Total System Approach to aerodrome safety regulations is emphasized and many examples are provided.
