Introduction
This course is delivered in cooperation with Search and Rescue International (Ltd).
A 10 day course with the objectives of training SAR Tasking professionals to a level of competence and understanding of a total systems approach to SAR tasking and the operational parameters within which SAR aircrews must operate.
Group Excercises, Table top simulation, and Case studies will be an important part of the training.

- Air Law Regulations and Air Traffic management
- Aviation law regulations and conventions applicable to SAR,HEMS, Air Ambulance and Aerial Surveillance
- Navigation and map reading
- Helicopter and Aeroplane Principles of Flight
- SAR Manager Ops SOPs and tasking principles
The course covers the following regulations: ICAO Annex 12; IAMSAR Manuals Vols 1,2,3; EU Reg 2018/1139; EU Reg 965/2012; EU Reg 1178/2011; National SAR regulations, ICAO Annex 19

The course aims to:
- familiarise students with the total SAR system tasking requirements.
- categorize and explain the operational parameters which SAR aircrews must operate within.
- provide insights into air asset planning considerations in order to optimise their use.
- enhance knowledge of state SAR obligations.

SAR Tasking Agency staff from MRCCs, ARCCs and JRCCs
Pre-requisites
Desirable pre-requisites:
- Personnel currently part of an agency with responsibility for tasking SAR aviation assets
- Personnel with a responsibilty for implementing state SAR obligations and IAMSAR guidance
- Personnel seeking to work with agencies responsable for the tasking of SAR assets.
Participants are kindly requested to bring a laptop to the course to access course material which will only be provided in electronic format.
Duration
10 days, starting at 09:00 each day and finishing approximately at 17:00 on the last day.
