Introduction
This course is delivered in cooperation with Search and Rescue International (Ltd).
A 4-day workshop designed to give the student a thorough understanding of the concepts and principles of Compliance Monitoring, Auditing Techniques and Oversight specific to a SAR environment. The course is presented by instructors with first hand experience in Search and Rescue Operations, Aviation management and Regulations and Quality/Compliance Monitoring Systems.
Learn how to develop and implement an effective compliance monitoring or quality system specific to Search and Rescue at State and/or Organisational level, to allow you to verify your levels of compliance with relevant regulations and to guage your organisations’ effectiveness.
Course Content
The course comprises of multiple interactive instructional theoretical modules in addition to delegate group taskings and exercises designed to the re-affirm the learning objectives.

- Regulatory Requirements for Oversight Auditing Manuals
- Compliance Monitoring Manuals
- Auditing Principles
- Auditing across multiple Organisations (SAR Assets/Providers/Services) Auditor Competencies
- Audit Communication techniques and Psychology
- Audit Planning Corrective Action, Remedial Action, Preventive Action Verification and Close out techniques
Audit data as an Input to SMS.
Learning Objectives
To develop a broad knowledge of the fundamentals of Search and Rescue Compliance Monitoring and Auditing Techniques.
To become familiar with the methodologies required to successfully implement a Quality or Compliance Monitoring System in a Search and Rescue Environment.

SAR Tasking Agency staff from MRCCs, ARCCs and JRCCs; NAA (Competent Authority) Inspectors;
SAR stakeholders and staff from:
- Lifeboat organisations;
- Mountain Rescue teams;
- Commercial/Civilian and Military Helicopter and Aeroplane Operators;
- Cliff and Coastal Rescue teams;
- Police Forces;
- Civil Defences;
- Military personnel with SAR responsibilities
Pre-requisites
Participants are kindly requested to bring a laptop to the course to access course material which will only be provided in electronic format.
Desireable pre-requestites:
- Personnel currently involved with any of the above organisations.
- Personnel with a desire to become involved with any of the above.
- Personnel with a responsibility for Compliance Monitoring and Quality Systems.
