Introduction
This training is for anyone who would like to have basic knowledge of aircraft de-icing/anti-icing and the global standards and requirements or an update on the latest standards and requirements.
The objective of the training is to provide an understanding of the basics of aircraft de-icing/anti-icing and the global standards and requirements.
The course aims to answer questions, such as "Why is de-icing/anti-icing required?" and it discusses the regulations involved, the change to SAE Global Standards, the Types of Contamination, Aircraft De-icing Fluids (ADF), De-icing/anti-icing methods, One step and two step treatments, Spray techniques, Hold Over Time (HOT), different types of De-icing trucks, and more.
Course Content
Regulations:
- Regulation (EU) No. 965/2012 (EASA Air Operations), amended u/i Regulation (EU) 2016/1199
- ICAO Manual of Aircraft Ground De-icing/Anti-icing Operations (Doc 9640) 2nd edition, 2000.
- SAE AS6285 (Aircraft Ground Deicing/Anti-Icing Processes)
- SAE AS6286 (Training and Qualification Program for Deicing/Anti-icing of Aircraft on the Ground)
- It also fully covers DI-L40 as per the matrix in SAE AS6286 para 3.4 with the exemption of "Instructional procedure in general". Should you be interested in developing or upgrading your instructional skills, we recommend to register for the Train the Trainers course.

A basic aviation knowledge is beneficial.

Two days, starting at 9.00 on the first day and ending at approximately 17.00 on the second day.
