FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Schiphol-Rijk, The Netherlands. February 04, 2021.
The newly formed International Civil Aviation Organization TRAINAIR PLUS Steering Committee (ICAO TPSC) held its first virtual meeting of the term 2021 – 2024.
As TPSC Chair, Paula V. de Almeida, Director of JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO), welcomed this bright group of individuals to the platform’s kickoff agenda which generated fruitful discussions for the upcoming meetings.
Further, ICAO Global Aviation Training unit (GAT) presented the new TRAINAIR PLUS Program (TPP) Framework introducing the revolutionary concept of ‘membership through training miles’.
The committee also had a first glance at the prototype of the new ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS electronic Management System (TPeMS) which will be available to TPP Members soon.
In its advisory role to ICAO GAT, the TPSC seeks to engage members and partners globally in facilitation of aviation safety training.
GAT, on the first meeting: “With ‘membership through miles’ global aviation training breaks barriers. All Members are looking forward to start analysing the concepts of the new framework in order to provide feedback to GAT. With expertise and advice from the TPSC, we can focus on the benefits and values for the TPP network and community, and ultimately for the harmonization of aviation training worldwide”.
TSPC Chair Almeida on committee’s prospect: “It was an exciting first experience as Chair which I have humbly embraced with strong commitment and enthusiasm. I am impressed at the level of cooperation from both the GAT team and the Committee Members. The support received from the Vice-Chair Ahmed Hoummady (LCCTC Aviation Academy) and second Vice-Chair André Rebouças (ANAC - Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil) was very important and contributed to the seamless pillar of chairmanship. Fully cooperating with ICAO GAT, I am confident that the committee’s work will result in fantastic milestones”.
