FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Schiphol-Rijk, The Netherlands. December 12, 2019 – From 4 to 6 December, in New Delhi, India, the Sixth International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Global Aviation Training and TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium (GATTPS) took place. This prestigious event focused on innovative approaches addressing global aviation training challenges. The JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO) attended it as ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Programme (TPP) Member and Regional Training Center of Excellence (RTCE), meeting experts and professionals from the field discussing opportunities for the ever growing industry. At the event’s gala, JAA TO also received, for the second consecutive year, the award for “Highest Number of Trained Training Managers”.
This year’s symposium, themed Innovative Training for New Horizons, brought together over 400 delegates from the civil aviation training sector worldwide for idea exchange and workshops understanding the implications of technological innovation, digitalisation, the Internet of Things and young generation professionals entering the international air transport system.
Director Paula de Almeida and Business Strategist Eric Schoonderwoerd representing JAA TO started the symposium with meeting the other 13 TRAINAR Plus Steering Committee (TPSC) Members in order to discuss suggestions to improve the implementation and strategic planning of the TRAINAIR Plus Partner Programme. The TPSC has an advisory role to ICAO and JAA TO is its active member since the inception in 2011.
Director Almeida further was invited to moderated the panel session Innovating to address the changing demographics of the industry, which explored new ways to attract young aviation professionals catering their training needs in an increasingly digital savvy environment.
During the symposium, prizes for achievements in training development and delivery were also presented. As aforementioned, the award received by JAA TO for the “Highest Number of Trained Training Managers in 2018” was quite notable. The recognition prizes JAA TO’s commitment to the ICAO TPP by delivering the ICAO capacity building courses to JAA TO’s highest quality standards.
Internationally, JAA TO is a three-time ICAO award winner committed to remain a globally leading training center working closely together with ICAO in developing Standardized Training Packages (STP) and ICAO Training Packages (ITP). As the only RTCE in Europe, the accolade gives prestige to the organisation itself, but as Associated Training Body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) and leading Center of Excellence worldwide, overall significance reaches even further as Director Almeida states:
“The recognition is confirmation that JAA TO is on the perfect path towards its vision of being the best learning and knowledge centre for capacitating aviation professionals worldwide. It represents a UN recognition to the kingdom of the Netherlands (JAA TO being established as a non-profit foundation), to Europe (JAA TO being the Training Body of the (ECAC) and to the world (JAA TO a leading RTCE).”
Chairman of the JAA TO Foundation Board Alessio Quaranta adds, “On behalf of JAA Training Organisation I wish to congratulate the Director and the organisation on this prestigious prize. Being awarded this recognition is testament to the excellent work in delivering the ICAO capacity building courses. The consistency in quality over the years also reinstates the organisation’s RTCE status and its leadership position within the aviation industry.”
With its new vision and mission, JAA TO proudly continues to serve as leadership institution and reference point within the global aviation community dedicated to enable professionals, organisations, training philosophies, personnel, and ideas. Only recently, former Director of JAA TO Foundation Board Salvatore Sciacchitano has been elected President of the ICAO Council, a prestigious appointment and part of JAA TO’s history.
JAA TO also applauds all other recognised TPP Members and congratulates their awards. Some of these organisations have been in collaboration with and supported by JAA TO in order to achieve excellent status and deliver high quality training. Acknowledging these trends, JAA TO remains pioneer in the industry and fulfills its responsibility as leading RTCE for professionals and other training centers alike.
