ECAC Directors General & Heads of Training meet for annual High-Level Training series – JAA TO signs MoU with HCAA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Schiphol-Rijk, The Netherlands. 16 June 2023 – In the scope of its annual training session exclusively for Directors General and the regulatory aviation bodies of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Member State, the JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO) hosted the 4th edition of High-Level Training sessions (HLT/4). This workshop series presents a unique and safe platform for best practice sharing and knowledge transfer among European aviation stakeholders on the most relevant aviation topics.
This year, under the topic of “Overflight and Destination Risk Management on Existing and Emerging Conflict Zones”, JAA TO Subject-Matter-Experts discussed existing mechanisms for State-to-operator and/or State-to-State sharing of information and actionable security intelligence and best practices. ECAC DGs and CAA security focal points engaged in productive discussion during this workshop on such relevant aviation subjects.
Within HLT/4, JAA TO hosted a parallel session titled “Learning & Development Workshop for ECAC Heads of Training” focussing on Training Needs Assessment and capacity-building for CAA training plan development. ECAC Heads of Training and HR Senior Managers joined this premiere workshop to understand better the aviation training requirements and L&D strategies for tackling common challenges across their European authorities. The feedback on this session was also very positive and yielded rich discussions for future formats.
On day two, the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) and JAA TO signed a Memorandum of Understanding on sustainable training cooperation. HCAA Governor Christos Tsitouras and HCAA General Director Economic Oversight Kalliopi Lykou met with JAA TO CEO Paula V. de Almeida and Head of Sales, Marketing & Operations Murat Yalcin to officially finalise this comprehensive training cooperation to optimise HCAA personnel’s capacity building and organisational effectiveness.
HCAA Governor Tsitouras states: “This training framework between HCAA and JAA TO will see the delivery of quality programs to support our authority’s growth and ambition for greater personnel competencies. HCAA is looking forward to cooperating with such renowned European organisation as JAA TO.”
CEO Almeida summarises: “The MoU with HCAA is a milestone with a long history. We are proud to conclude this cooperation with such an aspiring European CAA and ECAC Member State under the excellent leadership of Mr Tsitouras and Ms Lykou. Similarly to our own mission, the HCAA shows the highest commitment and dedication to building an organisation that features the best trained and qualified professionals to keep our sector safe and secure.
Overall, the HLT/4 workshops again provided very productive insights and exchange of ideas. The feedback received indorses our plans and activities to keep hosting these platforms to add value to the ECAC community through training and capacity-building in various engaging formats. Personally, I am proud of the organisation/staff for making this two-day, double-track event a success.”
As Associated Body of ECAC, JAA TO continues providing regulatory aviation training solutions to civil aviation authorities anticipating new and emerging trends beyond the standard course portfolio. The next event – HLT/5 – will be announced in due time.
