Introduction

EU Regulation (EC) 216/2008 of 20 February 2008 addresses amongst others the responsibilities of National Aviation Authorities of the Member States of the European Union regarding the implementation and training of National Aviation Authorities Inspectors responsible for Initial Airworthiness.

In order to fulfill these requirements the European Commission has issued Regulation (EU) No 628/2013 of 28 June 2013 on working methods of the European Aviation Safety Agency for conducting standardisation inspections and for monitoring the application of the rules of Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament.

This training course has been developed for National Aviation Authorities’ Inspectors to become knowledgeable and capable to fulfill the obligations of standardization per (EU) No 628/2013 and the certification of production organizations per (EU) 748/2012.
