Introduction
This course will provide you with the detailed theoretical knowledge you need to develop an effective SSP and through an number of exercises you will attain the practical skills that are necessary to build an effective SSP.
The State Safety Programme Course introduces a framework for the development and implementation of a State Safety Programme (SSP) that combines elements of both prescriptive and performance-based approaches to the management of safety.
This course is based on ICAO annex 19, 2nd edition, ICAO document 9859 revision 4 and EASA Basic Regulation 2018/1139 with the recent requirements for the SSP whilst also addressing EASA requirements in line with the EASP and EPAS .

Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
- Create an SSP for their Authority which combines elements of both prescriptive and performance based approaches to the management of safety
- Understand and explain the importance of a realistic implementation of an SSP as a prerequisite for safe operations in civil aviation
- Understand and explain how to integrate the ICAO requirements with EASA requirements and the translation of the EPAS (European Plan for Aviation Safety) to the national level.
Who should take this course
Personnel of Authorities responsible for creating an SSP or parts thereof and personnel working within the framework of an SPP.
Pre-requisites
A basic understanding of the subjects addressed in the training course is recommended but not required.
Participants are kindly requested to bring a laptop to the course to access training course material which will only be provided in electronic format.
Training course delivery will be in the English Language.
