Introduction

The JAA TO’s Flight Dispatcher Introduction Course establishes a high level of safety and proficiency, by adequate training for the daily demand tasks for flight dispatch personnel.

The topics of the training for airlines are based on the relevant parts of ICAO Annex 1, Annex 6, and ICAO Documents 10106, 9868, and 9683. This training also complies with the requirements of EASA GM1 ORO.GEN.110 (and related AMC and GM), IOSA ISM DSP 2.1 and DSP table 3.6.

The Initial and Recurrent training is based on competency-based methods according to the new ICAO Manual 10106.

Course Content

This course addresses the following topics, covered within the course through 10 Modules labeled as follows:

  • Module 1 (LAW) Air Law and Air Traffic Control
  • Module 2 (POF) Principles of Flights
  • Module 3 (TEC) Aircraft System and Engines
  • Module 4 (M&B) Mass and Balance
  • Module 5 (PEF) Performance
  • Module 6 (NAV) Navigation
  • Module 7 (MET) Meteorology
  • Module 8 (FPL&FM) Flight Planning and Flight Monitoring
  • Module 9 (OPR) Operational Procedures
  • Module 10 (HPL) Human performance and limitations

Important Note: This course can be adapted for operation needs, regulations or internal/regional compliance requirements. (Examples: ETOPS advance training, MNSP, Winter Ops., Warm Weather Operations, etc.)

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to the exercise of relevant tasks in aircraft operational control duties.

In addition to that, participants will acquire familiarity with the following reference materials:

  • ICAO Doc.10106 Manual on Flight Operations Officers/Flight Dispatchers CBTA
  • ICAO Annex 1 Personnel Licensing
  • ICAO Annex 6 Operations of Aircraft

  • EASA Easy Access Rules for Air Operations
  • IOSA Standards Manual requirements.

Pre-requisites

  • The course will be delivered in the English Language. Therefore, proficiency Level 4 (operational) in English is highly recommended.
  • Participants should have the minimum educational level of successful high school completion.
  • Participants are kindly requested to bring a laptop during the course, to access the materials which will only be provided in electronic format.

Duration

2 weeks (10 days) from Monday to Friday. Starting at 09:00 finishing around 17:00 each working day. An examination is offered on day 10.
